Win or Lose: You're the One on the Court

Ever wondered how your actions affect your company's points and how you can benefit from being a top performer? Let's break it down in simple terms.

What Are Points?

Points are rewards your company earns for certain actions. Think of them like gold stars in school, but for the whole team.

How Do Companies Earn Points?

Your company can earn points through:

  • Safe Driving: Every trip without accidents or violations.
  • On-Time Deliveries: Completing routes on schedule.
  • Teamwork: Helping fellow drivers and staff.

Actions That Cost Points

Points can be lost too. Here's how:

  • Accidents: Any crash, even a minor one, costs points.
  • Late Deliveries: Delays reduce points.
  • Violations: Speeding, not following rules, or improper paperwork hurt the score.

Why Points Matter to Your Company

Points lead to:

  • Bonuses for Your Company: More points often mean extra incentives.
  • Better Contracts: High scores can secure better deals.
  • Reputation: Low points can risk your company's reputation and contracts.

How Your Actions Affect Your Company's Points

Every action you take impacts your company's points. Here’s how:

  • Safe Driving: Every safe trip boosts your company's points.
  • Timely Deliveries: Being on time keeps points high.
  • Teamwork: Assisting your team can earn bonus points.

How You Benefit from Helping Your Company

By helping your company manage their points, you can enjoy:

  • Job Security: High points mean a stable job.
  • Potential Bonuses: Companies often share bonuses with top performers.
  • Career Growth: Being a top performer can lead to promotions.

Quick Tips to Maximize Points

  • Drive Safely: Always follow the rules to avoid accidents and violations.
  • Be Punctual: Plan your route to avoid delays and keep deliveries on time.
  • Stay Alert: Keep an eye on the road and your surroundings to ensure safety.
  • Help Your Team: Lend a hand to fellow drivers and staff when needed.

Summary

Points are a way to track how well your company is doing. By driving safely, being on time, and helping others, you can help your company earn more points and enjoy the benefits that come with being top performers.

Keep these tips in mind to boost your company's points and make the most out of your job!

FedEx Ground can be the best company you work for or the worst company you work for.

It all depends on the contractor and the people you deal with. If you get a job with a guy who doesn't like to fix anything then you are in a world of hurt. The good thing about that is that FedEx periodically checks the truck to see if its fit to standard. Along with that FedEx is real strict on logs. They allow zero mistakes... which may or may not be a good thing for ya...

I have a dedicated (which is the best thing in the world if I may be so bold) but you can wind up running the wheels off with a red line dedicated run, they cut it close to running over your 11/14 alot...

If I would have to be a full time OTR with FedEx Ground, I think I'd possibly be better off with a company like Werner or something...although to be fair I hear teams make quite a bit...but who wants to team?

New contractors have very long waiting lists for dedicated runs due to the point system FedEx has in place... and even if you wait 20 yrs for a run, there's no guarantee you'll get it cause FedEx allows contractors to sell their truck numbers with their points, dedicated runs & independent contract business to the highest bidder...
